Sculpture workshop offers :

Facilities :

Large sculpture studio all equipment provided.

Individualised technical guidance. Bilingual teaching.

Small group 5 persons maximum.

Free guided Museum visits included in the sculpture program on demand.

The stimulating approach of this course creates a relaxed but professional atmosphere that encourages progress and creativity.

Year-long sculpture classes : modeling, molding, clay, plaster, silicone, resins, reconstituted stone, etc…
Night classes once a week from 7pm to 10pm – 36 sessions a year.

Maximum 6 persons – materials provided
Trimester : 370 euros (12 courses)
One year registration only.
Tuesday, wednesday, thursday, from 7pm to 10 pm from september to june.
Except Christmas and summer break.

2 days direct plaster technique initiation :

2 days (saturday and sunday from 10 am tp 1pm and 2 pm tp 5 pm) direct plaster technique sculpture intitiation.

6 days sculpture class program :

stageDuring these six days, (from Monday to Saturday inclusive) you will address

  • the practical side of sculpture thru’ modeling, mold construction, and casting the original piece in plaster.
  • and also the theory from visiting sculpture exhibitions in museums.

You may choose practical program option (without museums visits)

The days are divided as follows :

Monday

Morning : Introduction to the course and presentation of the techniques used.
Afternoon : Neo-classicism of the 18th century, the Louvre Museum.

Tuesday

Morning : Begin modeling.
Afternoon : Modeling.

Wednesday

Morning : Modeling.
Afternoon : Expressionism of the 19th century at the Rodin Museum.

Thursday

Morning : Begin molding.
Afternoon : Opening of the waste mold and pouring of plaster.

Friday

Morning : Begin break waste mold.
Afternoon : The birth of modern art, the Orsay Museum.

Saturday

Morning : Breaking waste mold.
Afternoon : Polishing and finishing plaster original and end of course celebration..

At the end of the course each person will leave with their finished piece of work in plaster.
A resume of the course with photographs and technical details will be e-mailed the following week.

11 days sculpture class program : 6 hours a day :

stageDuring these 11 days you will address in depth the modeling, molding in plaster, the production of a silicone mold and the casting of a part in plaster or resin. The theory element will cover in-depth study of the language of sculpture thru’ the ages.
You may choose practical program option (without museums visits)

The days are divided as follows :

Week 1 :

Modeling a piece, casting a mold, molding a plaster original out of waste mold technique.
(same schedule as 6 day course)

Week 2 :

Monday

Morning : Begin silicone mold.
Afternoon : silicone mold.

Tuesday

Morning : silicone mold.
Afternoon : “The metier in question”, a visit to the Molding Workshops of the Musées de France.

Wednesday

Morning : Finish silicone mold.
Aftrenoon : opening of mold and casting part.

Thursday

Morning : plaster molding.
Thursday afternoon : The questioning and debate of contemporary art at Beaubourg ( National Center for Contemporary Art.

Friday

Morning : plaster molding. (copy)
Friday afternoon : detail sanding and finishing.

At the end of the course each person will leave with their original piece of work, the mold and one copy (plaster or resin).
A resume of the course with photographs and technical details will be e-mailed the following week.
