Brigitte Brandeau at the Madeleine church : 50 artists exhibited at the Madeleine ( Madeleine square - Paris 75008) June, july, august 2009.

Visit Guide
1st Biennale “The Creation Steles”
From 18th June to 28th August 2009

At the entrance of the church, on the left side, we find the “The marriage of the Virgin” by Pradier, in front of “Fusion”, by Glass, the tree of human and memory of Eden. Then, the chapel of Saint Amelia, by Bra, which accommodates around Myth, universal art figure of Derbré, Future is today, of Chabrieres, allegory of the mother, and “the Cross of the crushed”, by Nodé-Langlois, two works made by women, with recycled material from paper and metal, two symbols of success over death.

The chapel of Christ Salvador, by Duret, is the first to take advantage of the space of the tribunes with two hanging works:Spring by Yahyaei, on the left, discusses with two Tonnes of black sand of Rauchbach, dedicated to the crucifixion and the resurrection. Over the altar, the alliance of the Creator with the Creation is being evoked by the Arc 2001, by Limousin, and to its right, in the memorial, You will transmit the memory of the series The Ten Commandments, by Banon, remembers the duty of the memory.

The chapel Sainte-Clotilde, located near the chorus, whom´s representation of the first princess of France canonized is the work of the distinguished sculptor Barye, has her altar surrounded by “Man fish”, by Kasper, symbol of excellence by the first Christians, and by the “Red Verticality”, by Brandeau, a curtain of illuminated letters whose mystery shines over “the cabin of contemplation”, by Talva design, and “the Declaration”, a the sketch of Stephant. These last two works are placed under the locket of Saint Mary Magdalene.

On other side of the master work of Mary Magdalena´s Passion, by Marochetti, we find The Cross with big stones, by Saint Denis and Saint Martin, a piece of Rispal made by blue and red crystal, as well as the “Conversation” of Piechaud, a symbol of the dialogue between art and faith located under the locket of Saint Vincent of Paul. In the chapel of Saint Agustin, nearby the heresy defeated, by Etex we contemplate The creation is Eternal, a reconstitution of the façade of Magdalena’s church made by Walker with water bottles, symbol of the baptism. In the chapel of the Virgin, where Seurre gives us a master interpretation, “Twin Dance”, by Parmentier, is a beautiful representation of a couple, just as we can see in the Royal Salons. We can also contemplate two hanging works, “Bunch” of Harraca and the “Ascension” of Patrycian that illustrates the miracle of water converted into wine and the leave of the Resurrected Christ, two events strongly linked to the Jesus´s Mother. In the eyes of Mother and Son, the tears of Maître….

Next to Jean of Arc, work by the sculptor Larche, “Displacement” of Girard reflexes the grace of the young girl that had to save France. The chapel dedicated to San Vincent of Paul contains, around the vigorous image of the saint of the charity made by the great Italian artist Raggy, “the Hope in one smile”, by Vanderplancke and the Celestial Sphere of Jalbert, where the earth of men, the planets, the stars, start a dialogue between the creatures and the universe. Close to the Baptims of Christ, one of the great works by Rude, we find Travel 5 of Lévy, which places the man, modest and commercial, and the animal, mistreated and so near to God, in a close and chimerical relation, as a genesis of constant metamorphosis.

In the Royal Salons, the poetic Movements by Morielli, lead to the inexorable Aceptation by Oddoux and their priests that cry his grave, protected by the Adam and Eve, by Massa, and by the Water Angel, by Froger. The salon Malesherbes is dedicated to the Cock Man, carnival figure by Falkin, followed by Totem III Uniform, by Fremont, and by Interior Life, by Stein. The original purity is present with the tree Transparency by Vargas, and the Magdalenas, by Mayeras, Stein and Quilès, in front of the Masque by Karen Zlin. The rythms of Vibration, by Neil d’Ourson, take us to the Beyond of Jupiter by Hirlet, and to this Fusion Man by Gartner, who, beyond of the wastes produced by the human being, teach us a possible resurrection through new forms of relating us with the reality. Discover now the rest of the artists of “Creation Trail” and contemplate the historic spirit through their sculptures. Works exhibition INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the Church, as well as, in the Royal Salons, underneath the Church, lateral Doors at street level.

If you require further information about the art works exposed, please contact the Biennale Direction calling to 06 09 56 75 78
